After looking back on one particular journal I posted the other year ago. lol  Questionning.You know I've been asking myself for quite some time...
Is it wrong that most dA users who I watch are mostly girls (I'm not a pervert lol)? I ask because I've currently looked back on how many people I've subscribed to and yeah, the majority are women. I probably shouldn't be too worried about it because I should make an effort to make more friends and join in conversations a lot more often (although, I'm not a good conversationalist outside the internet but I do like to listen to what others are saying), it doesn't really matter what gender anyone is anyway. ^^;

I realise now I'm not ashamed to admit that I do chat to a lot of girls here than I do guys. XD I guess I was pretty nervous at the time thinking if you, my watchers/visitors were okay with that. ^^; Now I'm not some player that scores with loads of women, far from that. :lmao: In fact, a lot of women I have chatted to over time are really nice people and have made mutual friends with them since then, even if we never met in person before haha. :heart: :aww:

Not to say I don't chat to boys mind you, quite a few guys on this site are some of my favourite artists whom I've chatted to frequently as well. :nod: Those being;
So yeah, that's all I wanted to say. ^^ Thanks for reading! :D

Tagged by HealerCharm. :) Cheers, my friend!~ :highfive: Well here goes! :D

Leighton, or Safe (preferably call me Safe).

Star Sign:
I'm a Virgo, though my Birthday's on the same day as 9/11 believe it or not. :O

Average hours of sleep:
7-8 hours sleep, usually 1am when I do go to bed. XD

My Lucky numbers:
Ooh my, well I guess mine are 9, 16, 21, 37, 49. o3o

Last thing I Googled:
Typing in a username and eventually looking at the weather the rest of the week. XD

When I made this account and why:
It was 8 years ago back in February 2009. It did take me a while to adjust to dA's assets with little success at the time. Though in the last few years, I was pretty nervous to interact with a lot of artists, not to mention submit anything... :( I can't quite put my finger as to why I was this reluctant but since late 2015, I have made more of an effort to post whatever I feel like talking about and getting to know a handful of artists who have also followed me in return; even going as far to meet a couple people in person too. 8D Seriously, you guys are awesome! :aww: :happybounce: Have your cake and eat it too

Amount of watchers:
I have 108 watchers! Which I still find to be quite an achievement for me after reaching the 3 digits! (^.^)
Thanks a lot for all your support and kindness guys! I love deviantART!

What I post:
Argh, it appears that I post journals than I do art submissions, I'll be on 40 journals real soon. :lol:

Blog posts:
Nope, I don't have a blog site I'm afraid. D:

Do I get a lot of comments:
I get quite a few, depending on what I post. And I read them all and reply to them all! Peace I appreciate all who comment and fave on my artwork and general ramblings haha! Cuddling up with someone close...

Why I chose this username:
Formerly, my username was MobiusRules1, which I found to be incredibly cringe worthy as I grew much older, I eventually gave in changed my name through Core last August. And I'd say I'm quite happy with the name that I have now as it represents who I am as a person and what my favourite hobbies are in life (gaming duh lol). :)

Me and a close friend of mine had a fun but very exhausting day over at Doncaster's Video Game Market again. :)

The atmosphere was still jam packed with several gamers looking for good deals like last time, especially when trying to approach the front table in order to find the games I was looking for. >.> I still managed to purchase a handful of games I wanted to try out (one of which I've already played, but needed to be replaced) those being; Super Mario Land 3, Game & Watch Gallery 2, Pac-Man World 3, Super Monkey Ball: Deluxe, and finally Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. ^^

I don't think I said the last time I posted a journal of the event before, I'd say the big highlight(s) for me was there were an abundance of video game songs playing in the room where the market took place, I got all nostalgic and hummed to so many tracks from games I grew up on haha. ;P The other highlight is when I got to meet MrEchoAngel and TheGebs24 from YouTube once again, this time all in the same building heheh. :aww:

If there was one thing that did disappoint our day, the weather was pretty gloomy going and coming back, especially when driving through the Yorkshire moors. >.< Luckily, it was actually my friend's brother who took us all to Doncaster this time, and we were very grateful that he took us to the event, I can't thank him enough for that. ^.^ Heh, even they purchased a good haul of games also, which is a good sign. ;)

Aww, I hope that you guys have had a wonderful weekend too!~ :aww:

Wow, it's been a while when I last updated my journal entry, including what I've been up to lately. ^^;

So what's been happening with me lately, well I'm still looking for paid work but have recently began a Voluntary Work Placement last Tuesday where I'm currently looking after domestic animals before they're re-homed to new pet owners (the big highlight for me was feeding all the cats :meow:). The building however does reek of animal piss, but I just get on with the job rather than dwell on it. XD While I'm only work a few hours, I'm willing to ask my work colleagues if I can work more hours so then I'm not just dawdling on what other tasks I need to do next. :P

My motivation to draw sketches is still on the low side, almost as if I've not been too productive with my gallery and have been so fixated going through my notifications non-stop and I feel like I've been neglecting what I post. ^^; I shouldn't be so worried if I can't go through them in case they buildup too much. Besides, they're not going anywhere and I've all the time in the world to go through them, so I'm hoping to balance out both submitting content/journals and going through my messages in the process. :) I'm also gradually taking advice from my friend, SamCyberCat to just minimise the use of being on dA nearly everyday so then I have time for myself outside the internet.

As for what games I've been playing, not a whole lot but have been fully engrossed playing my copy of Pokemon Sun that I got last Christmas, I've almost completed the post game and I'm about to start catching the Ultra Beasts sometime soon. ^^ I'm also happy that one of my closest friends, Haruka-Tavares volunteered to do that online trade I mentioned a couple weeks ago to evolve a couple Pokemon that I wanted on my team, I was helped her out to evolve her Pokemon through trading in return; I can't thank her enough for that ^.^

So what I'll be doing next month, not much but me and my friends offline have been debating on whether to head over to Doncaster's Video Game Market again; just like last year's event. We'll see what happens. ^^

So yeah, that's what's happening in my life as of now. :) What have you guys been up to lately?

When some artists who you've looked up to all these years and then overtime, you then see them for who they really are behind the screen. Sassy, arrogant, and outright mean, almost as if they've turned into a completely different person entirely. Yes, I understand that some have had a rough upbringing all their life, but that is NO excuse to mistreat your watchers and make them feel bad the same way either! :|

I'm so sorry for this mini rant of mine, just something that I had come to terms with this week...

13 Questions!

1. When did you first join dA?

22nd February, 2009.

2. Has any artist on dA inspired you way above any other?

I guess chibiirose for her vibrant, and colourful artwork; she's generally a kind and friendly artist too. ^^ I mean, what can I say? There's tons of artists that are my favourite and whom I look up to! XD

3. What's your favourite fandom?

Supposedly Sonic but I'm slowly starting to grow out of that fandom for various reasons i won't go into full detail. *cough* Divided fans *cough*

4. Have you ever created a group?

No never, my enthusiasm for groups is pretty limited. >.>

5. What's your most popular drawing on dA?

My head sketch of Sonic since it has the most faves out of all my sketches. Sonic Head Sketch

6. Have you ever won a contest?

A contest in general or on dA? Well on dA, I've never participated in a contest.

7. How often do you host events (contests, raffles, adopts,..)?

Not once, though I have advertised some adoptable's for my friend, SweetDream87. :)

8. What was your happiest moment here on dA?

Ever since I did a shout out to all artists that I was officially proud to call them my friends. ^_^

9. How often are you online?

Quite regularly when responding to notifications, though my motivation with my own artwork is generally on the low side I mean, the number of journals I've made surpass my number of art submissions. >.>

10. What has been your favourite dA April Fool's prank so far?

I can't remember off the top of my head, sorry. XD;

11. Have you ever had Core Membership?

Yes, just last August. :) I have been debating on whether to pay an annual purchase since I overall enjoyed some features being Core member had to offer from poll lists, Live notifications, no adds obscuring my interactivity, and adding a visitors widget to see who's viewed my profile. XD

12. What kind of art are you most comfortable making (digital, traditional, Sonic,..)?

Traditional Art mostly, though someday I may decide to do Digital Art in the process, but don't know which editing software I would be most comfortable with. o3o

13. Feature a recent drawing by someone you admire!

JennissyCooper's most recent, Sly Cooper image. :XD: Handsome Sly

What I can say however is that it does make me happy to hear that you appreciate all my comments I leave on your artwork; I find it a real honour that I got to come across your gallery and follow up on your progression overtime! :D And it makes me rather obligated to do a shout out to all artists whom I'm officially proud to call friends of mine (it would mean the world if you feel the same way ^.^):

Just want to point out, sorry for posting; non-joyous journals in the past few weeks, there were simply a couple issues that needed to be addressed towards myself (still looking for work though), and to show how much I care about my friends living in other Countries with their struggles too. ^^; So without further ado, onto the journal! :)

I had quite a fun weekend this week, it first started off with me visiting my friend’s house the other night on Friday (another friend of mine was invited too) where we had a catch up on current events and played on a few games to pass the time like Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart, my other friend also recorded a couple matches so I’m essentially waiting for them to be uploaded on his YouTube channel. X) Late at night on the way back home, I almost ran over a dog that came bolting out the bushes and across the road close to my house, fortunately I managed to brake in time for it to cross safely onto the other side. *phew* That would have been an awful sight if I didn't... :(

And on Saturday, there was a Doki Doki Festival that was being held in Manchester, an event that’s mainly centralized around Japanese Culture and other attributes like Cosplay (the fourth annual event I believe). I actually knew about the event from my friend tea-bug who booked a table there last year, she couldn’t make it this year due to her looking after her health and well being. :c I was initially unsure on whether to go as I had to run a couple errands I needed to do that morning like pick my mother up from town and drop her off at the garage to pick her car up in the process; and as I weren’t doing anything else that afternoon I thought “Eh, I’ll drive up to the festival and see what it’s like as I never been before.”.

As I turned up, there was already a performance going on which I recorded on my camera; after it was over I explored all the other tables to see what merchandise the sellers had up for sale, I unfortunately did miss the morning premise but still stuck around the rest of the afternoon before closing time and saw a couple more performances, one of which was someone who Cosplayed as Sakura Kinomoto while singing the Japanese Theme Song from Card Captor Sakura (god it's been years when I last watched that Anime XD). [link]

There were quite a few moments that did highlight my visit where, I was really engrossed by one seller that sold prints and portraits ranging from fanart (mostly Pokemon) and other, certain styles he composed, I didn’t get to check the name of the table but the portraits were cleverly well drawn if I do say so myself heheh. ;P

Most of all; I got to meet foxhat94 in person; that’s the second online artist from dA I’ve ever met haha!~ :D I have spoken to her on dA before and she did inform that she set up a table that day, I was pretty nervous to speak to her at first but I eventually had the confidence to properly do so. :) I once again complimented her artwork and got to have a quick read of one of her comics she published too. X)

The last facility I loved was the gaming room, while there weren't that many consoles; though each, individual console contained hacked cartridges which ultimately, granted you access to almost every game possible (I went on the Mega Drive most of all). Granted, I did have to wait for other people finish playing some games, but fortunately I took my Gameboy with me in case I got bored; it was pretty funny seeing a couple players competing on the likes of Street Fighter II though. XD I did eventually play on a few games like Sonic 3 Complete (a hack of Sonic 3 & Knuckles), Castle Of Illusion Starring: Mickey Mouse, and Rocket Knight Adventures which I recently played at Manchester's Play Expo last month (it was such a joy being reunited with that game a second time haha). X)

So yeah, that's essentially my fun-filled weekend, I hope that you guys had a lovely experience like I did too. ^^ Take care everyone!~ :D

Just a quick journal to say this (not going in details because as the title suggests, uncomfortable subject). >.>

Some users still get the impression that I get rather annoyed or bitter when I don’t receive a response, it actually made me feel quite nervous and upset after I overheard their comments through one girl’s status post just now. >.>

Just to point out, I’m not that person anymore and have in fact deleted the very status post I submitted last August. So to make this clear to people that still continue to resist insinuating such things behind my back. PLEASE don’t get the wrong impression about me, I’m only human just like you lot, we all make mistakes so it would be wise of you to trust me on this... :cries:

I’m sorry for bringing this up again but you know; this has been quite a recurring theme in the last few weeks. >.>

You know, when getting to know other artists through the comment section, you expect them to be all bright and cheerful to all that do drop by to visit their gallery, right? I won’t say who, but there have been quite a couple whom have been quite abrupt with me for when they respond with for instance when I say to them “Hi, how’s it going?” and their response is “I am fine.”, with no emotion or enthusiasm whatsoever and in my mind I’m like “Okay, there’s no need to be so nonchalant about that either Ratigan Glare.”.

I mean you could have simply changed your attitude or be completely honest with me and try to keep the conversation going instead of cutting me off right then and there. :shrug: Come the fuck on! :| I know I used to be rather distant myself but have now made a significant change ever since last November; and now I want to embrace the feeling of engaging in conversations and being friends with several artists along the way. :nod:

That’s all I have to say, take care everyone! :heart:

Phew, just got back home from Manchester’s Play Expo Event; I and a friend of mine had a fabulous time all day. :D

We essentially went around all the tables looking for any merchandise we could find; while we didn’t grab a massive haul of games, we were at least satisfied with what we bought; I bought Game & Watch Gallery 3 which I heard is a really good game. ^^ I also own Game & Watch Gallery 1 and I already fell in love with the game when I first picked it up at age 10. XD Although I will say, the majority of the prices were pretty ludicrous even for second hand merchandise; I guess that you'd need to invest in a lot of money when you’re willing to purchase the majority of it anyways. ^^;

As for the rest of the day, we basically went around all the game consoles that were laid out pretty well in a couple areas of the building (even gaming tournaments), while there were games that I already own and played like Sonic, Spyro, Ratchet & Clank etc, I thought that this year I wanted to try out other games that I have heard of, but never played them the first time growing up like DuckTales on the NES (even the Virtual Boy of all things heheh lol). But the one game I utterly enjoyed replaying the most was Rocket Knight Adventures (at least 3-4 times), that game has really fast paced action and platform based set pieces, I just couldn’t put the Mega Drive controller down for even a second when I succeeded in beating the first couple levels haha! X3

Speaking of Sonic, there was in fact a presentation where Duncan Gutteridge; an illustrator who done conceptual artwork for Sega back in the early 1990’s, hosted a conference and invited some of us  to draw an official art piece he done of Sonic and we essentially done numerous depictions of the character. The majority of us had done a significant job and we all had a good laugh for when we got the chance to speak to him up front, I actually have seen him a couple times before at other gaming events but not to the point where I did speak to him in person, I was pretty nervous about it though. XD

So yeah, we both had a fun and exhausting day today, it's a bit of a shame that we couldn’t get to see the Tomb Raider presentation on yesterday’s premise as it was the 20th Anniversary of the franchise; which is rather strange as there wasn’t one for Crash Bandicoot as that franchise shares the same Anniversary too? ^^; And before the event even happened, I initially invited another friend from dA who believe it or not, lives in the local area and asked if she weren’t busy this weekend, but she couldn’t make it unfortunately but I’m not gonna lose sleep over it either haha! :D

Anyway, got a lot of messages to go through! o3o

Just want to say, a huge thanks to those that looked out for me the other day. :heart:

I felt rather lost in thought and emotional for when I took part in that induction on Wednesday. >.> Though granted, I actually did get on with my work colleagues and my tutor (seriously, he was quite funny) quite well as we were split into multiple groups and highlighted moments that were essential in the workplace environment like for instance, Health & Safety, Code Of Conduct and treating others with respect. I'd say the funnest, productive process of the induction was on Tuesday where we were tasked to make individual bridges out of straws, and were meant to balance a ball from beginning to end without it touching the ground, essentially a way of bonding with other co-workers within the distribution centre.

And while that session did go well, I just didn't think that the warehouse job was for me personally and the shift times really put me off for when they were revealed to us, but I'm not gonna let it get to me either and just focus to be more positive and find more work that satisfies my interests along the way.

Anyway, thanks again for caring about me! :glomp:
